As a small business owner, referral is one of your most effective marketing tool. Referrals are powered by quality service and customer satisfaction. Once customers are happy, they then become your foot soldiers and tell everyone about your company.
  
Customer service presents itself in many ways;  product/service quality, turnaround time, discounts, convenience, etc. Yes, for a very small business you do not always have the resources available to train employees properly, conduct quality check, or offer extra incentives to  customers. However going the extra mile with a simple thank you note, a phone call or an email will not affect your bottom-line negatively. In return, your customers will feel appreciated and maintain their loyalty to your company. It is also important to get feedback from customers about your services and how you can better serve them. This simple method will help you grow the business overall.
